everybody loves trips to the emergency room

1:41am Monday. Good to know: Kenmore is only about 12 minutes away from University Hospital's emergency room if you break enough traffic laws getting there.

Um. Right. How'd we get here?

I got to MurkNorth at 11:20pm last night (or so) with a bunch of stuff from MurkSouth, having gone down there to find out why newmoon wasn't responding to pings or POP3 requests or anything else. It turned out that a power strip failed. After bringing it back up and loading up the car, I headed north again.

While I was unloading the car, I started talking with risu for a while in the basement, then realised that Anna wanted me right away. When I went upstairs to the top level, I found her lying in bed quite unhappy, having thrown up in the sink. So I phoned the doctor contact I had on her discharge papers, which eventually got me a callback from the on-call physician. He listened to her describe the symptoms and said to go to the emergency room. So we did. Zoom.

We've been here for about an hour at this point. Anna's lying down on one of those emergency-room examination beds next to me while the resident goes to get a kit of some sort. Said doctor says Anna's suffering from a complication from the painkillers she was given, and that they're going to be able to do something about it more or less here, and more or less in the immediate future, so, um, that's good. So I don't think it's an emergency anymore, though Anna is still very nauseous and in a fair amount of pain.

No wireless network here, either. Not surprised.

2:18am. Anna's in the bathroom, and they're getting her some pain medication. Hopefully she'll feel better after all this. Blah.

4:18am. Home. Anna's feeling better enough to sleep. More later.

Guh! I had a problem with my painkillers too, but they just made me paranoid at least, not sick. Still, no fun and yuck and oog. I hope you're both doing better today. :(

I have that problem with percoset. Vicodan I can take but it isn't as effective. Still, recovering from surgery while violently vomiting - NOT FUN. I hope she's able to rest today.
