+0. Picking up more boxes for the move from
spazzkat at 3pm. Loads of packing; blah. We're getting rid of a lot of stuff, too - things we haven't touched in forever.
annathepiper's old Amiga is part of it, as is a bunch of Amiga software - shout if you want any of it. Otherwise, we'll do the eBay thing, because that means it'll end up with someone who wants it enough to pay shipping. ^_^
1: Also, a collection of motley DEC hardware, mostly MicroVAX I/II. There should be enough here to get one of them running - in fact, one should be fine. We've even got a TK50 tape drive and maintenance/install tape. Anyone? Anyone? Please?
2: No? How about a NEC MultiSpeed laptop, circa 1986, in perfect working order except for the battery, which no longer holds a charge. Includes DOS 3.2 diskette, case, power supply. FEEL the no-backlight monochrome CGA-emulating power!
I think we're going to be doing a lot of eBay. :-p
+3: Went to see
kathrynt and the rest of the Seattle Symphony Chorale - and oh yeah, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, as well - do the Lord of the Rings Symphony. The first two movements had a lot of drag in them, honestly; the third through sixth were better, tho' I thought the sixth was actually a little short. Seeing Kathryn up there was pretty cool. ^_^ I liked what the Chorale was doing - and the soloists were outstanding - but had an oddly difficult time connecting to the orchestra. Still, it was fun.
+4: Bought a cute magnetic-bead bracelet/necklace jewelery chain before the show, at a little store in the same building as the hall. It's neat, because it can be essentially any size you want it to be, up to one huge loop, and the magnets just snap together at each point to make it work. There's no clasp, of course. It's fun to play with, in addition to being pretty attractive. The only problem is that it can't get too near the credit cards. :-p
Hm. More later. Packing now.

Date: 2004-07-18 11:19 am (UTC)Unfortunately we can't take you and Rebecca over to see it yet because it's still owner-occupied. :P That said, the instant it's ours we'll be able to have all the time we need to let you come over and check the place out and figure out whether the lower floor would work for you as a space or not. We'll make sure that's one of the earliest things we figure out. :)
We're planning to be moving our stuff over probably all throughout the month of August--so you need not feel pressured to have to prepare to move right this instant. :) If nothing else, while Dara and I may well go ahead and move over early, our stuff will probably follow in staggered waves. We're going to have to do stuff like figure out how to wire the place up for Internet, figure out where all the furniture and stuff is gonna go, and all that.
And hell, if nothing else, since I'm having surgery on the 3rd that's VERY likely to keep me too loopy to move much at least throughout the first week of the month. ;P So I at least am doing a big preliminary purging sweep.
Sorry about being a big spazz for not communicating this stuff before! Chalk it up to me being fruck out about my neck being cut open in two and a half more weeks. >_< (Thought I'd said we were in the process of getting all the papers signed, when we had lunch the other day... sorry about my lack of clarity there!)
