Anybody know why there's an airplane flying low-altitude circles above the University District at 1am tonight? It's mostly staying south of 52nd.

At least, I think it's an airplane. It's been going for a while. Oh look, now that I'm posting, it's going away. Anybody know what that was about?

I was just wondering the same thing, though from my space it sounded more like a helicopter than a plane. So strange.

Weird. I don't recall hearing any such thing. Must have been off towards Greenlake... ? Maybe?

Are you sure it wasn't a black helicopter? ;)

たぶん 「ヘリコプター」… かも :)

(*checks dictionary* Woo! I was right! Ph33r my l33t transliteration skillz...)

You could always play the Helicopter Tune very loud in response. *searches music collection* aha... it's by Deep Blue. I've got it on cassette, ho hum... That beat is very distinctive but there's only one bit that sounds anything like a helicopter.... here's a remix you can play online [rm format so needs RealAlternative or RealPlayer and sounds pretty crappy] if it comes back (http://www.backtotheoldskool.co.uk/helicopter.htm). :)

(Educational note) I forgot to mention that in all the cases I've seen the word used in manga, nobody ever spelled out 'helicopter' in full. It's always just 'heli', which is much harder to transliterate incorrectly :)
