slightly better than hate

-0: Anna's sick. ;_;
-1: Fake "Internet Corporation Listing Service" bills, trying to get me to blindly pay for "listing services" I never ordered. Yes, on page two, it does say this isn't actually a bill, but it's still annoying. Off to the Attourney General's office it goes!
+2: Five and a half hours later, Din is clean enough and otherwise ready to let the professional carpet cleaners come in to try to get the staining out. I really should not get the pros in first - not with all the work I'm going to have to do after they're done - but I really need to know how much it all costs before the 15th. Guh. Maybe I should just go ahead and charge a cleaning fee. It's legal to do so. But I really prefer to give people a chance to do the work themselves and save the money, and most people take advantage of that. So.
-3: The person I showed Din to on Thursday found the state it was left in significantly degraded enough that she wants to wait and see how the "repairs" turn out before she thinks too much about whether she'd move in. Given how much work I'd put into making it really nice a little over a year ago, this is pretty upsetting - I'm not upset at her, of course, but I'm upset at what was done to get it back into that kind of state. At least the two encrusted areas on the kitchen countertops came off cleanly. That really worried me - I'd hoped that soaking in strong cleaner and some scrubbing would get it off, but I didn't know. But it did. Yay.
+4: On the other hand, most of the kitchen lights are back online. All that's left are replacing the broken undercounter cans. Unfortunately, the same model isn't made anymore and I can't get parts, so I'm having to replace the entire set to get proper lighting under there again. Bah.
-5: I have more abandoned furniture to repair and try to give away. I'll post more once I've had a chance to see what can be fixed and what'll just have to be tossed. (I think I can actually fix all of it, but I won't be advertising anything until I know.) The massive dresser unit is kind of nice, and I'm sure I can repair it. Only one drawer is broken, and I think it'll repair okay.
+6: Four definite YES RSVPs on Thanksgiving, one maybe so far. Yay! ^_^
+7: Got Apt. A at the other house rented out; yay! Everybody I showed it to thought it was really great and wanted to rent it, so that made me feel good, even if it isn't nearly what I'd like it to be yet.
-8: Too much landlordy talk. Speaking of which, we have spaces in the main house. Anybody interested in being part of a semi-cooperative household? I'm completely serious. Talk to me!
+9: I got my tablet problem figured out again. Now if I can just figure out a couple of things about this silly oekaki, I can doodle online. ^_^
+/-10: The Venus Envy comic got here. But the printing is really pretty bad. HIGHER RESOLUTION SCANS PLS KTHX. The new story is good so far, though.
+11: Went with
annathepiper and
spazzkat to the aforementioned (...I think...) play at Open Circle Theatre on Saturday night and had a great time. I think they got a good mix of funny and creepy going on the three one-act plays (all adaptations of H.P. Lovecraft short stories); I particularly liked the second piece. But then, I'm totally a sucker for anything that invokes 1930s radio. (No, I don't know why either. But I am. ^_^ )
+12: New (to me) CLAMP School manga, courtesy a stop by the bookstore! Yay! So! Cute! ^_^

I like him.... :-D
You come from the Future. Your soul came from a
different time, far in the future. You're just
a little bit a head of everyone else and you're
constantly wondering what lies ahead.
