I think I have just about the right amount of insanity for Shego in my expression here. ^_^ These were taken tonight, right before walking out the door for the Weak Masq. I made the costume myself, yes - it's a black bodysuit, painted; used boots, painted; gloves, painted; the jewels are glued on. (The neck one had to be reglued right before the pictures with hotglue - fortunately Mimi had some handy!) I have a small glow effect for the gloves - tiny chemical lightsticks held between the fingers - but they aren't used here, I was saving them for the party.

Date: 2003-10-26 04:32 am (UTC)You pulled Shego off extremely well. I never expected to see anyone dressed as her, so this kinda made my morning. ^_^;;; How long did it take you to paint all that material?

Date: 2003-10-26 08:56 am (UTC)The next day, I got the first two coats of paint on the back in the morning (separated by not long at all - I basically started on the second coat as soon as I got done with the first); then that needed to sit for a while so the two first coats could stablise a bit, and I did the third coat that night. Then that sat for 12 hours (overnight, plus some), I flipped it over, and repeated the process on the back. So over three days, I'd say about... six hours, maybe? Probably a little more with cleaup and such each time. The boots and gloves took less time, of course; the first coats also took much longer than the second and third.
Dressing took about an hour and a half, but it was the first time I'd done that makeup and I had to change plans midstream. (I had planned to really white up my face with a bit of green tint, but what'd that become? Mint. Minty. Yuck. So that was right out, and I had to take all that off and start over.) Most of the hair colour was spray-on; the eyebrow colour was a separate black temporary hair dye specifically for stuff like that.

Well done costume

Date: 2003-10-26 07:08 pm (UTC)Costumes need to store well more than wear well, really... ^_^
Cooking is good to learn. Our microwave just decided not to work, so that's kind of, um, bad. It's been dying for a while, but it seems to have finally given in for good now. Unfortunately, it's an over-the-stove model, which I think I'm best off paying someone else to replace... blah!

Date: 2005-11-29 04:45 pm (UTC)Jones' Tones stretchy fabric paint. The most important thing is that whatever you use be able to handle lots of stretching. I had to mix the colour myself, using a darker green and a yellow, both of which were metallic. ^_^
