Anyway, so

kathrynt's brother Patrick is shooting a film, and she phoned me saying, "So we need a slide rule" to use as a prop. And I was able to say, "Do you want that in yellow or white?" And off both went for a day of shooting. "Slide rules provided courtesy of Solarbird." <giggles>

Meanwhile, yesterday,

jessicac hosted tea at Memorial Park in Bothell, with croquet, also with

spazzkat,

lyricae, and

tinlail. It's really annoying that I'm still in a state that makes two games of croquet really wear me out. Stupid surgery recovery taking so long. Of course, it didn't help that I had not one, but two bees get caught in my hair at once, so suddenly I'm jumping around like an idiot trying to shake free the remaining be that didn't fly away immediately while everybody is yelling at me telling me it's already gone. (Because they assume it's only the one bee, because how often do two bees get caught in someone's hair at once?) Meanwhile I can still hear the stupid thing going BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ angrily RIGHT beside my ear. Then it finally got out, and I kind of fell down before I could make it to a chair - that part was no fun.

I still came in second in the first game and won the second game, tho'. Bryce Lambert would have been... well, not proud, really, but possibly less embarrassed. And Jessica's tea was lovely; even I will eat creme cheese on cucumber sandwiches. I'd post a picture of the Skank Barbie Trophy, but my Intel box - with the card reader - is down for the count (see previous entries for details) and I don't even know whether I can hook the card reader up to my Powerbook. (I'll edit this later if it works.)

Also from today, Queen Anne Hill is much better a fit for the kind of neighbourhood I want than I initially realised, so I'm thinking of placing some heavy emphasis on looking there. I love their downtown, from what I've seen of it. Yes, access is Difficult (tm), but I don't think I care.
