May. 14th, 2003 01:08 pm10 years ago - let's see if I can manage to remember enough to do this!
LOCATION: The old Murkworks, just up the street. Just out of school, thanks to Evil on the part of the rotating department chairmanship. But, well, I was tired of it anyway. Working for the Borg in the hellishmost part of the helljob - but I'd be in a better position by the end of the year. So that wasn't too bad in the end. ^_^
SEX: Lifemated already. I am so dull! Tho' I was also dating a guy - see next. Hee!
RELATIONSHIPS: See above! And we were looking for a boyfriend. I ... think were were dating Phil, then. That lasted maybe about a year - he's now married! To someone else, of course. AND they have a kid, named Joseph. ^_^
APPEARANCE: Stressed out all the time, so that was no fun at all. And, of course, somewhat different hair - shorter in back, kind of abruptly cut everywhere else. For clothes... mostly geekwear. I have more flexibility in that now. ^_^
DRUGS: None. So! Dull!
DRIVING: The 1988 Ford Festiva that we had until an uninsured driver totalled it, ramming into the passenger side from an alleyway. I loved that car. I want a Mini Cooper now, but instead we have a Honda. Maybe next year. ^_^
DIET: Neither Anna nor I knew how to cook yet. There are too many Hot Pockets, tho' I am starting to learn the mysteries of fresh pasta and vinaigrette salads.
CREATIVITY: Poor. We're doing a little music with a group that Vicka knows, but that's about it. But towards the end of the year, I start to draw again, and finally make myself really learn how to ink.
SOCIAL: A good household helped a lot. We still missed our old friends from before, but we had new ones here.
MONEY: Kinda tight; we were paying off a lot of debt. Aside from the student loans, I'd kind of financed my last year of college with a VISA card. But things were definitely better, as we both had jobs. I'd even bought a laser printer, and we made it down to San Francisco for a short vacation. That was fun, even with the Scary Aggressive Bum Incident (I had to flee into a hotel lobby to get away from him because he'd decided that I was going to give him apparently all of my money); the cable cars turn everyone into chimpanzees, hanging off the posts. It was good. ^_^

Date: 2003-05-15 04:52 pm (UTC)Ten years ago I had been married and monogamous for four years already, had just moved to Long Island, didn't know anybody there, had no social life. The house was pure chaos from just having moved. Crystal, the old blind Pomeranian we had adopted, died 10 years ago this month, and we adopted the Beagle Trevor. I had been stuck on Long Island for many months because I was avoiding driving through the boroughs of NYC to get back to the continent. I was doing temp office work for money, and I hardly ever saw my husband, who was spending three hours a day or more commuting.
On the other hand, I still have the same husband, and Trevor, and Simba who we had before we moved to Long Island, and Peppi that we picked up a little after the "ten-years-ago" mark. I'm still driving the Chevy Nova I bought new in 1986, and John's still driving the Acura Integra we bought new in 1991. We're even still using the same cordless telephone you bought for us after you broke its predecessor. :-)
And you think your answers are dull. I find that quite amusing.
