bans on trans health care are never, ever about health

The bans on trans health care have never, at any point, been about “surgery” or “puberty blockers” or “side effects” or anything else. They’re absolutely fine with gender supportive medicine for underage people – as long as it’s for cis kids.

This crossed my feeds again so here’s an example as a reminder:

Back in January of this year (2023), Utah State Senator Escamilla (D) called Utah Republicans’ howling against “surgery” by making them vote on an amendment banning teenage breast implants for cis kids too, not just trans kids, as an amendment to their comprehensive an anti-trans healthcare ban.

Every single Republican voted against it. Every single one. They even spoke against it. Because for cis kids, it’s fine.

Just like puberty blockers.

It’s not about medicine, it’s not about health, it’s not about any of their bullshit. It’s only about hurting trans kids, as a step towards hurting adult trans people, and then hurting all LGBT people in general. They prove it themselves, over and over and over again.

Never forget that, and never let them say it unopposed.

Oh yeah. Someone on Facebook I’ve long expected to go publicly anti-LGBT with a truly epic, monumentally… no staggeringly hilarious level of stark, unrepentant hypocrisy… just did so.

Unfriended, blocked, fuck that guy for reals. Seriously. Fuck ‘im.

Another bridge burning brightly behind me, casting light I will happily use to light my way forward.

another day another argument about how my need not to get MURDERED BY FASCISTS is outweighed by someone’s need to reach an audience specifically on twitter, and not to go reach an audience, i don’t know, anywhere the fuck else like ticktok or instagram or even facebook who even the fuck cares, i am just so FUCKING done with having people try to sell my soul to satan for one (1) corn chip
