Honestly, the random shit you come across – meet Modulex, the architectural design, project management, and signage minibrick system created by and spun off from Lego!

One of Bannon’s big money allies just got arrested for money laundering. Guo Wengui threw money and propaganda into trying to overturn the 2020 election and remember Bannon’s arrest? It happened on Guo’s yacht. Mother Jones – which has been on this for a while – has the deep background.

I’ll believe in a Trump indictment when I see it, and even then, I’ll be poking around to make damn well sure it’s not some sort of deepfake. But the GOP is doing its damnedest to prevent any hope of one, targeting prosecutors who dare try to hold their god-emperor to the law. As always, one of the “rights” of fascists is to be above the law, while applying it as harshly as possible to others.

Meanwhile, someone‘s getting a visit from the Secret Service, because that’s what happens when you publicly call for extrajudicial military execution of former presidents. And he’s fine with that, and will most certainly use it to promote himself. It’s a less subtle of the same priming-for-violence Trump is working. He’s not about to do it himself, obviously, or even expect the military to do it, but – as with the rest of the Republicans – he damn well knows what he’s doing and is doing it on purpose.

With Republican / fash states trying to limit freedom of movement for women and trans people, or apply their state laws to people who leave their state, asylum laws are going to become more and more important. The Minnesota House of Representatives just passed such a law. The Senate hasn’t done so yet. If you’re in Minnesota, this is where you can do some effective work. Help get it passed.

Relatedly, workplace attacks have been rising — almost entirely against women. Possibly related – and this is good – over three-quarters of doctors and medical students state they will not even apply for training or residencies in states with abortion restrictions – not just bans, but states with restrictions on early abortions and Plan B et al.

The GOP hate women. And people who pay attention know it.

See also: anti-Semitic rhetoric has doubled since Musk took over Twitter. When asked for comment, Twitter responded with a poop emoji and Musk sneered about it. It’s a great day, as always, to live Twitter.

‘Under His Wings’: Leaked Emails Reveal an Anti-Trans ‘Holy War’ is Vice’s story covering what Mother Jones has been covering in depth, and talks about the contents of the email pool released last week. Underneath the lies, underneath the bullshit, they hate trans people in particular and queers in general, and they want us all dead. Never pretend anything else.

Missouri is next in queue to ban health care for trans youth. Disgusting.

As authoritarians, fundamentalists, and fash always do, Fox News is setting up to scapegoat a bunch of women for their systematic defamation and election lies. I have a large degree of “work for the devil, burn in the flames” about this – it’s a great object lesson in how you aren’t an exception. If you’re a lesser being to them, if you’re a thing to them, you always will be – no matter how hard you help them.

They believe this shit because they want to believe it, and want it to be true, as much as they simultaneously know that it isn’t. As long as it serves the cause, it’s “true,” and that’s just how it works for the fundamentalist and fascist mind.

15-Year Justice Polston Resigns, Giving DeSantis Seventh Pick for Florida Supreme Court – almost immediately after winning a new election. It certainly smells a lot like Justice Stevens’s convenient resignation for Trump. In other Florida news, Judd Legum has a rundown on one particular instance of DeSantis using lies in order to use law against LGBT people.

And in yet more Florida news, the first firing at New College in Florida – the liberal-arts school DeSantis is turning into a fundamentalist-aligned far-right university – has its first official job casualty. They are, of course, Black and trans. Christopher Rufo, the best-known and most-hateful of DeSantis’s new board, enjoyed dripping content in his reply, stating that being fired “would give Rosario-Hernandez ‘the opportunity to develop real work skills, instead of fomenting hysterical racial grievance narratives.'” Note the gender-coding, as well as racist baiting.

Philadelphia is going to pay out the nose – again – for police abuses, this time during the 2020 protests. I only wish I thought it would matter.

Watch out for new and/or revived astroturf “local” media which are actually propaganda machines. I’ve warned before but it really is a good-sized effort. Here’s a rundown of one in Texas.

As I’ve discussed many times, fundamentalists (and now fascists) pay a lot of attention to local elections, running for positions on school boards in particular. In the past, they’d run what they called “stealth” campaigns – winks and nods to their real base, while presenting as normies to the general public until elected. This time, looks like they’re taking more of a “loud and proud” approach. But that still relies on you paying attention, so – pay attention to local races! They matter!

Seriously, these races are how the Christian fash took over the GOP. This is how. Starting at this level. PAY ATTENTION.

Seriously, I literally can’t remember the last time. I’ve been at kind of a virtual zero or near-zero before, but this is… well… it may as well be a first.

Inbox. Zero.

all inboxes empty

Part of that is genuinely being caught up in having stuff I need to save in folders all properly sorted away. (This is important as it’s not just neatness, it’s legal record keeping, a database of knowledge, and so on.) And part of it is that I’m actually finding MacOS Reminders to be a good substitute for having my to-do list in my inbox.

And part of it is chugging through a lot of shit.

Anyway, it’s literally been … decades. Inbox zero. Go me.
