...at least, you know, until I'm good enough to deal with that sort of thing, at which point ALL BETS ARE OFF, PEOPLE. YOU COULD GET ANYTHING.

Anyway, today's my regular biweekly at Lake Forest Park Farmer's Market, noon...ish. Hopefully actually noon. Hopefully I won't lose another string. Hopefully Phil and Trixie will parachute nekked into the side yard carrying sacks of hundreds. That'd be awesome.

ETA: More like noon-fifteen. No sign of Phil and Trixie.

It wasn't a bad show, I mean; in fact, I think in a lot of ways, it was my most solid gig so far from a performance and sound standpoint. I was solo today but felt pretty on, and I made my usual money, tho' it took longer than it usually does. That single E string cut into my finger more than I'd like, my fingertips got pretty damn sore after three sets.

But the first set... I was mobbed. Honestly, one little set of people stayed through I think the entire set, and there were people dancing with their kids, and somebody with a prosumer or possibly actually pro camera kit took a bunch of photos, and the crowd got big enough that I didn't try to count it, and there was applause and good times were had by all. At its peak it was a little bit of rockstar, there was a moment of "wait, what's happening here?"

And I didn't get a nickel from any of 'em. PAY THE GIRL WITH THE MUSIC, OKPLSTHX.

Second and third sets didn't duplicate that level of crowd, but I did have more entertained kids and an assortment of happy listeners and rounds of applause and people started tossing me monex, including one of the market vendors, which was one of those "omg wait what?" moments, and the people with the corn polenta (sorry guys, I forget your names!) gave me Busker's Discount Lunch, which was awesome, and 21 Acres gave me a bag of greens, which was also awesome, if a little random. But hey, fresh greens! And I expanded the set list a bit, adding some stuff I haven't played for a while, and I think it showed a bit, but nobody seemed to mind.

Then I ate lunch because I was about to fall over, and then I decided to hang around to see whether they're one of those markets that gets the big rush at the end, but they weren't, and I played a little miniset anyway just because I could. And then I went to lovely tea at Jessica's house, and Kathryn gave me a ride home yay.

Setlist, in rough order, all songs by me unless noted:
「もののけ猫」(Spirit Cat) (Extended version)
"Leaffall" (Extended version)
「桜木町」 (Cherry Tree Train Station) (Extended version)
"The Clockwork Waltz"
"Dream of an Incomplete Flute"
"Roadrunner"
"Mari Mac" (My version and arrangement, based on the traditional)
"Dancing with Mrs. White" (Traditional, Anna's arrangement)

"Thought You Knew"
"Lukey" (Traditional)
"Life in the Underground"
"Captain Kidd" (Traditional) (Set 2 only)
"Pirate Bill and Squidly" (Uffington Horse) (Set 3 only, because I felt like it. ^_^ )
