I've got a system set up for taking books and such to class now. On Monday and Wednesday, when I have to take every conceivable book with me, I use
risu's wheelabout piece of carry-on luggage. I worry very much about destroying its plastic wheels because that's 1.6 miles on concrete which can't be good for it, but she says not to worry about that. However, I worry anyway. On Tuesday and Thursday (Japanese 111 only), I take my usual backpack. On Friday (no lab, less stuff to haul) I use
lyricae's gnormous Alienware backpack, as my regular backpack is too small for the things I need, but not so much that it's crazy - at least, I hope.
School under these conditions is difficult. I'm losing two hours or so every weekday to physical therapy and needing to sleep when I get home. (It's pretty much unavoidable. I tried avoiding it, I fell asleep anyway. So now I just give up and do it.) Then there's the twice-a-week appointments with my physical therapist, and, on top of it, I need more sleep at night than normal (eight hours solid instead of seven or a little less.) Clearly there is still much repair work ongoing. But it means that I'm working on a much shorter day. It's a significant problem.
The varying on-and-off-but-mostly-on high-pitched whine in my left ear isn't doing me any favours either. I've got an appointment for that, but not for three and a half weeks. I'm not where I ought to be on the first lab (fortunately not due until Monday) and I'm not doing all I'd like to be doing in bio (I'm a little behind on reading) or Japanese (I haven't even looked at the syllabus coverage today, tho' I have been studying for tomorrow's quiz.) So I am continuing not to feel good about things. But then, it is "late" (rather, what now passes for late, 9pm) and I am very tired. Again.
Monday's Miles: 1.6
Today's (Tuesday's) Miles: 2.3 burdened
Miles out of Hobbiton: 1349.3
Miles out of Rivendell: 884.3
Miles out of Lothlórien: 429.3
Miles past Rauros Falls: 21.4
Miles to Isengard: 449.5
The "burdened" tag means I'm carrying a reasonably heavy backpack, as per above.

An Entirely New World
Obviously, no CWU tonight.
