solarbird: (molly-oooooh)
After picking her up from the writer's conference she's been attending since Thursday, [livejournal.com profile] annathepiper and I went down to the new Farmer's Market down at the shops. This was their first weekend - ever, it's a new market - so I was very curious.

It's not even half the size of the U. District Farmer's Market, but that's not fair; that one's well established and has been rated one of the best in the country. For this one to be, oh, 40% the size of that is extraordinary, honestly. I was expecting six or seven stalls, and would have been happy with that, so this was a pleasant surprise. We bought some apples and some strawberries.

But the great thing - the really amazing thing - is that one of the stalls was selling shave ice. (Not those guys, those guys are all north shore, by which I do not mean north shore of Lake Washington.) And it was real shave ice.

I do not have an icon for how much this made me squee. The flavours were really good, too. I was all OMG SHAVE ICE OMG REAL OMG I HAVEN'T HAD THIS SINCE OAHU OMG OMG OMG and I got kiwi fruit and lime and yes, my sox0rs were roxx0red.

He said he's going to be there every weekend this summer.

I'm not sure I can handle such goodness. It may be too much for me. I may explode.

But I don't care. Because mmmmmmmm, it'll be tasty!
