quiet life
Mar. 5th, 2004 08:29 pmI'm living in the land of NO updates! Mostly because I've been really busy doing things which aren't really very interesting to anyone. The politics this past week has been pretty low-grade - only one serious discussion on an email list, and some faxes sent off; the rest is all domestic.
I've got people interested in Apt. 2; hopefully they'll email me back again soon. (I have an ad running in the Weekly, but it doesn't seem to be doing any more good than the Stranger ad did; Cragslist is where I'm getting hits.) I've been doing a bunch of easy pre-con stuff for Norwescon; next month will be time to get serious, as I get the daily 'zine together. (Yes, I have a Plan.) I need to get my hair done; it's starting to get into my eyes a bit. But I think I'll start having less cut off at any given time and going more often.
I sang yesterday, but badly - bad habits reappearing everywhere, and I bailed before I did any harm. I sang a couple of days before that and sang high A and screeched high B, which was pretty neat; I also had surprising success singing through G several times. It was neat; hopefully that was the trend (since the previous go had been in that direction too) and not the most recent session.
Tax prep ate its usual two days; but at least we're getting a refund. (Having to pay all your own health bills will do that.) Got an amusing verbal offer for 5026 from someone who clearly had no idea of how to run a boarding house or how to bid on property (she threw a verbal at me that was 30% below asking; when I said no, she went to my agent and offered 40% below asking; I laughed her off for both reasons. Oh, and pictures of Din's bathroom with the new mirror hanging up are still sitting on the digital camera waiting for me to get the stupid card reader hooked up.
We've been getting a small number of prank phone calls; I think that's what you get when you run ads in the newspaper. Not responding seems to be effective.
And that's about it. Determinedly dull, really. Even I'm bored. Oh; I found some time to trim some of the roses. That was nice.
( Here, have some quizzes )
