offered in contrast

Given how… blessedly normal… the DNC is this year, I thought it might be good to revive a couple of stories and images from the Republican National Convention – particularly of the plans for mass deportation and concentration camps, the most disgracefully evil plan put forward by an American political party since World War II – to provide some contrast between that fest of fear and fascism and the Democratic Party’s nominating convention of an inclusive republic and small-d democratic governance.
I know, most people reading me don’t really need the reminder, but it might be useful to remind some of your zero-attention-span low-info-white-voter friends of exactly how nuts that was, in the context of a political convention that’s actually about improving the state of the republic.
There’s no particular order, here. It’s just… as it came to mind.

Plus, let’s not forget this “Odo, you’re better than this” moment:

or Grampa Angy ripping off his shirt for some reason, because sure, why not.

I mean, just because they’re dangerous and stupid doesn’t mean they aren’t also evil clowns.
