Wow! I wonder if the Supreme Court will do what might be the right choice: refuse the case (and let the ruling stand) on the grounds that it's not a legal question, but a political one, and therefore not in their jurisdiction.

That... seems an unlikely turn of events. But since the big question from that standpoint would be, "Does the Republican Supreme Court see him as more of a hindrance to power than an asset..." then that would be a way of ruling that way without quite having to come up with a legal structure to rule that way.

That would also be a much worse way to go about it and very bad for the Republic, though. Much, much worse.

I do note this is specifically regarding the primary. But we'll see what happens at SCOTUS.
