Huh.

Turns out even asymptomatic COVID-19 infections can cause Lewy Body Syndrome as one of the “long covid” sequelae.

LBS is a fucking nightmare. Think Parkinson’s disease – just for starters. Then it gets worse.

If you’ve stopped masking up, you might want to reconsider that decision. This is… bad.

Not going to stop masking in public indoors.

Can't speak for the rest of the people I share my housing with, of course, and the pressures to conform they're obeying.

Of course, since I've had my first infection and it was asymptomatic...that may not matter at all.

I consistently masked during this past weekend's Costume-Con 39 in San Jose, and was grateful that most members did so as well and didn't act like the people at Eastercon earlier this month. I heard that there has been one reported case of COVID from CC39, not the large outbreak that happened in the UK. As I wrote elsewhere, it was pretty much the anti-Eastercon.

At my first in-person medical exam in three years, my doctor pointed out that masks are no longer required even in medical facilities, and asked me how long I intend to keep masking. I said, "I don't know, but I also know that I've not been sick for three years now, the longest continuous illness-free period in my life, and I kind of like it that way."

This has been my experience as well. So my answer has been - 'like ... forever forward?'

Masking has also helped my allergies - and saved me from needing to apply sunscreen on my face ...which is already having enough problems since the family history of rosacea began hitting me**.

[**in my 60's, rather than hitting in their 20's = Mom, & 30's = little sister; but then they both smoke, expose their skin to sunlight & wear makeup, so.....]

Yup. I saw one of the first articles reporting Lewy Bodies showing up in the aftermath of covid, and I had just been reading about Lewy Body dementia. All the nope to that.
