It’s 1934, and “queer” is being used to describe identity, not as a slur

TERFs spend a lot of time saying that “queer is a slur” and censoring it and insisting it’s never been and cannot be reclaimed, Queer Nation and all the various Queer Studies groups at colleges be damned. Fash like the Wall Street Journal opinion page spent a bunch of time supporting them in this, because of course they do.

The reason they do this is because there’s no other single world all-inclusive identifier for LGBTQ+ people, and they know it, and what they want is for there to be no such word at all. They hate it because it is against their narrative and their plan to pick us off one letter at a time, starting with T, and moving to B, until we’re small enough to smash one at a time. It’s a knowing lie, with political intent.

So it’s awfully handy for rebuttal purposes to have a usage from fucking 1934 show up, don’t you think?

I wish I had that when my school (the Technical University of Nova Scotia) shut down our student group "Technically Queer".

Lies are all they have. And they're not even smart enough to come up with new lies; they have to recycle the same old lies.

Sadly, too many people believe their lies :(
