I was wondering how long it would take governments to talk to SpaceX about this. Because if NASA is asking "is this a problem" in public, then they're just telling them "this is a fucking problem," in private, and the army/navy/air force/marines are telling them, "this is a fucking problem and you need to fix it" in private.
To me, this says we're in "national security issue" zone now.

Date: 2022-12-13 12:02 am (UTC)I'd recommend expropriating the company in service of civil society and achieving NASA's objectives. There may be legal obstacles to deal with first, but the US feds have lawyers to figure how the solutions.
Oh yeah...and not just one nation's security at stake here. Because NORAD, NATO, ANZUS, and whatever else I'm forgetting that the US is involved with.
