I don't know why it didn't occur to me that wood stains would run like a mofo along print layer lines but for the record wood stains run like a mofo along printer layer lines xD

Absorption rate is pretty good though, I'll give it that. Maybe this could be done intentionally to some degree or another.

Oh, wow, that actually looks pretty neat! Not the intended effect, maybe, but I bet if you took into account in your design planning you could do fantastic things with it.
