Well, Trump handled it perfectly by there estimation in that they were glad it was killing who it was killing, and they wanted it to kill as many those people as possible. But when the vaccine became available, it mostly just started killing Trumpers, who shun the vaccine, and they realized that might be a problem.

None of this has to make actual sense and none of the parts actually have to fit together. That's one of the "benefits" of operating in received-knowledge-as-truth mode, right? You don't have to think critically, so you don't, so that the parts don't fit together if you think about it doesn't matter. And any friction is your own imperfect understanding - just as it is with God's Plan, see also exactly the same thing.
