Fundamentalism moves towards making vaccinations against their religion

Don't sleep on this.

The senior vice president of communications for the National Religious Broadcasters was FIRED Friday, August 27th, 2021, for saying people should get vaccinated against COVID-19.

FIRED.

FOR SAYING VACCINATION IS GOOD.

We've seen this before. This is part of how you make something a religious tenant: purge just enough people that everyone gets the message. Most people will end up going along, because God Said, Apparently, and that's good enough for them.

But that doesn't change that they're making disease protection against their religion. I mean, sure, we've seen this plenty of times before in various religions in the past, but... it's not the kind of thing you expect to see more of in this day and age.

They haven't succeeded yet - and it may not work - but right now, that's where it's heading.

There were early rumours of COVID parties, which went away for a while - but now I'm hearing them again, one from a nurse in some article I shared around on Twitter.

So yeah, I'd expect COVID parties.

Blarg, yes. That is where this is going in more places. I have zero doubts that lots of churches are preaching against this clearly beneficial practice. As is typical with this sort of dogma, we'll see the impacts of this on School Boards for the next decade.

Sadly, this is not the first time that I've had cause to be thankful for the Jewish doctrine of pikuach nefesh (life is more important than everything) because there are far too many Jews who might otherwise be able to pressure their rabbis into this.

It's looking more and more to me like personal supremacy (white supremacy and male supremacy) is the only real tenet in their belief system. Everything else is either a temporary posture or excuses made up to justify that one core cause.

In more mainstream religion, the Pope and the head of the Mormon church have both said to get vaccinated and take life-saving precautions...and people are reporting that a bunch of until-now-faithful Mormons are disobeying their church, for the first time in their lives, over this.
I am kind of marveling that they'll follow all the other restrictions, but 'stay alive and keep your community alive' is what they choose to leave over.

Justin Trudeau's being stalked on the campaign trail. And women and people of colour in his security detail are getting targeted for insults.
