Last Wednesday, I said I couldn't finish the wiring harness until the other parts got here.

The other parts got here. ^_^

rainbow ribbon cables fuck yeah

Wasn't even that tedious to build. A little maybe just because of the number of connections but it's not that many, particularly since I realised - as I think I mentioned last time - that I didn't need the power bar and could reduce that to a single connection up to the screw terminal set, which I did.

Even just hanging in space it looks better:

than this, I mean

Check it tho', once it's secured in the box it almost looks like I actually know what I'm doing lol xD

If you're thinking it looks like more wires than last time in absolute numbers - even if they're way better organised and stuff - you're right, I went ahead and connected all the digital inputs up to the screw terminal bars. That way I can add it anything else I want later and then it's just up to changing the software on the linux side. The arduino already reports the status of all pins in the JSON it throws out, so why not?

The funny surprise was that the cabinet has a gap at the bottom big enough for the USB cable and while it does have to wrap/bend around, it's not under an unreasonable amount of pressure while doing so, which means I can close the cabinet without having to drill holes like I was expecting to have to do. I can even lock it!

but I don't want to

It just looks so tidy now, I love it xD

Great job. And tidy is good. Lisa hates untidy wiring, even if it does work.
