The fly thing is perfect. Sure, flies are attracted to bullshit, but also Pence is a fundamentalist and Beelzebub is both lord of the flies and the lord of lies in Christianity! So there that fly was, pattin' Pence on the head, just like the devil himself telling him, "Good job."

I mean, it's so on point that it would be _too_ on point if it wasn't real. I sure as hell wouldn't write it. And I'd hope my beta readers would would be all, "No. Pull it back. That's too cheesy, it's over the top. Totally tears it."

But then, I'd say the same thing about Trump being attacked by an American eagle named Uncle Sam and yet, that happened, so who even knows anymore. I'm not gonna say it myself, but if someone wanted to make a statement about the gods having made their preferences clear?

I wouldn't even object.
