Trump dumped something at his rally today: they're going to sue to block votes by mail which haven't arrived and been counted by/on November 3rd, no doubt regardless of state law.

(Here, by law, all ballots postmarked by election day count, and we routinely see early voters go one way, later voters go another, and win. Trump will try to stop all later votes from being counted.)

Now, that's not exactly what he says in this clip from his rally today. But it's the clear intent when he says, "We're gonna have a victory on November 3rd the likes of which you've never seen. Now we're counting on the federal court system to make it so we can actually have an evening where we know who wins, okay? Not when the votes are going to be counted a week later, two weeks later."

This is why despite any potential risks I am going to an early-voting center and casting my vote. Even living in a blue county in a blue state, I don't trust the mail and I'm not even sure I trust the drop-boxes.

Sue whom, exactly? Would they have to bring suit against each state individually? (Well. Of course not against certain states, IYKWIM. But individually, anyway.)

Is it too much to hope all the judges involved would be like "look, dude, exactly how to hold elections is explicitly up to the states, and you like to toot 'leave things to the states!' anyway, so fuck off" ?

Yes. They would. They would sue every state where they were winning but expected to lose as more ballots come in, to stop the count. They will elevated it to the Supreme Court as quickly as possible to get a ruling to stop the counting of every ballot.

They'll also contest in court every close state where they're losing but have Republican legislatures to get the ballots under dispute and try to get the legislature to name a separate set of delegates to the Electoral Collage, to fight it out there.

Trump said today that they need a nine-member Supreme Court with another one of his appointees specifically to be ready for the election, and challenges to it.

This is coming. The only way it might not come is if the result is so overwhelmingly for Biden that the GOP and Trump can't come up with any way to make it work, credibly or even not.
