i wear disposable contact lenses because i don't have depth perception with glasses and also my eyes are very different to each other due to reasons

and my right eye gets very little correction but i do kinda need it for best vision? (in a shitty range of "best" but bear with me)

so i put a new lens in and it was like "this seems WAY too much, like, twice as much, what the fuck?" so I took it out and inverted it and put it in to soak for a couple of days because I figured I'd put it in inverted or something? or it shipped that way? so i wanted to give it a couple of days to figure out it got flipped back

and i just got it out again

and it did this THING where it felt like it was coming apart And It Was BecUsE THERE WERE TWO OF THEM

THERE WERE TWO IN THE SAME FUCKING PACK

AND I'D WORN BOTH AT THE SAME TIME FOR LIKE THREE DAYS WITHOUT KNOWING

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

anyway I put one of them in now and my eyes are back to normal

but wHaT ThE fuCK

i mean arguably it's kind of a bargain because hey, free lens, right?

That said, yiii about two contact lenses at once. I haven't worn contacts daily for 15 or 20 years, since I'm less annoyed with my undereye circles when I wear glasses, but I still do occasionally. When I first started wearing an astigmatic lens in my left eye, no one told me the rotational orientation of the lens now mattered, and that the little line printed on it needed to point upward. I would insert it "normally" and then be constantly feeling something was in my eye for hours until I couldn't tolerate it, and did the same dance - wondered if it was inverted, soaked it, etc. Yii. Can't imagine (well yes I can) the discomfort of the thickness of two lenses at once!

Well, that's the thing, right? Felt perfectly normal. They're extremely low power (+0.25) so even two of them together are only +0.50, and still thinner than the +4.50 in my left eye. I legit thought it was just a higher-power lens mispackaged, and was kind of holding out an irrational hope that it wasn't that, but was instead just inverted and being affected somehow by that.
