Trump won't talk to Inslee, calls him 'nasty,' but the country is listening

President Donald Trump unleashed his latest load of invective at Gov. Jay Inslee on Sunday, just as news outlets were crediting Washington for its early reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Inslee was appearing on CNN's State of the Union with lessons that subsequent stricken states can learn.

Said Trump, when by a CNN reporter: "He's a failed presidential candidate. He's a nasty person. I don't like the governor of Washington so you know who calls? I get Mike Pence to call. I get FEMA to call."

In a month since Washington recorded its first coronavirus death, as the pandemic began ravaging a nursing home in Kirkland, Inslee has dealt with the president in ways to which Donald Trump is unaccustomed. He has refused to flatter the 45th president, who stages daily suckup sessions on the White House lawn. He has spoken truth to power. In the phone call when Trump spoke of the federal government's "backup" role, Inslee shot back that what America needs is a Tom Brady directing the offensive against COVID-19.

"I don't really care too much what Donald Trump thinks of me," Inslee said recently on Face the Nation.

Rural-state governors tell Trump they need tests and medical supplies, too

Several rural-state governors alerted President Trump on Monday that they are struggling to obtain urgently needed medical supplies and testing equipment, warning that despite the worsening coronavirus situation in New York and other urban areas, more sparsely populated parts of the country need help, too.

In response to requests for more testing kits, Mr. Trump said, "I haven't heard about testing in weeks," according to an audio recording of the call between the president and governors obtained by CBS News.

During the call, which lasted a little over an hour, Democratic and Republican governors detailed how they are struggling to obtain the protective equipment doctors and nurses will need to treat the sick and the test kits needed to determine whether sick residents are suffering from COVID-19.

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell: "God gave us grace on November 8, 2016 to change the course we were on. God had been taken out of our schools and lives. A nation had turned its back on God. I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the Word, read our Bibles."

Is Trump Using Critical Medical Supplies to Blackmail Blue State Governors?
He almost certainly is. It’s just that careful, responsible journalists won’t say it yet.

https://washingtonmonthly.com/2020/03/28/is-trump-using-critical-medical-supplies-to-blackmail-blue-state-governors/

Americans have become so jaded by the emanations coming from our president that we can lose sight of just how depraved he is. Each step goes a little frrther than the last, testing the bounds of decency and public tolerance. Meanwhile, the political press gingerly moves toward using words and phrases it might never have dared about previous administrations, without going so far as to admit the whole truth for fear of overstepping its own boundaries.

Trump’s use of crucial medical supplies in a pandemic to cajole and punish governors who aren’t adequately nice to him is only the latest, most jawdropping example. Trump has been taking advantage of the power of federal procurement to try to enforce the silence of governors critical of his incompetent response to coronavirus: He has threatened to withhold essential equipment that will mean life or death for thousands of people in those states.

On March 25th at Vox, editors gave an Aaron Rupar piece the title “Trump commits to helping blue states fight the coronavirus — if their governors are nice to him.” True—but even this description undersells the outrage of the situation.

1/ These daily clashes make evident that Trump would attack any non-servile press. He particularly loathes questions from women and non-whites,but in principle, you can see how much he enjoys the fighting regardless. ‘Owning the libs’ is territory he knows and loves, where corona

2/ is something he doesn’t understand, and critically, doesn’t really want to, bc he doesn’t care, and is fundamentally lazy. Laziness plays a far bigger part in the poor federal response than most people realize. Trump doesn’t want to do the work, the reading, the listening to

3/ experts. He doesn’t have the intellectual drive, the attention span, the focus to do the POTUS job much less to seriously crisis-manage. That’s why he wanted to end the whole thing at Easter. He’s bored & obviously out of his depth. Corona is pushing him to work - instead of

4/ watching TV, rage-tweeting, golfing, MAGA rallying - and he hates it. T just doesn’t want to do the actual job, and it’s painfully obvious in these wandering, bizarre, combative, non-informative pressers. That’s why serious stations aren’t running them live anymore. T doesn’t

5/ know how to be POTUS, and we’re seeing it everyday in these T performance art displays. So yes, journalists should keep asking him questions; it’s important that there’s an unambiguous historical record of Trump’s gross unfitness, like Nixon saying if the prez does it,it’s not

6/ illegal. But T will never answer tough questions in a remotely informative or good faith way. He has neither the knowledge of corona & the response, nor the stamina & focus, to answer. ‘Owning the libs’ is what he knows, and his sheer laziness means he’ll go there again & again

7/ Here’s a nice example of exactly what I’m talking @ above: https://twitter.com/acyn/status/1244401890047037440?s=21. T is talking @ the Bachelor during a pandemic bc is literally too lazy to read his briefs on the virus & stop watching TV. Honestly, I wonder sometimes why he’s even POTUS.He seems2hate the job

8/ And yet another example: https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1244320570315018240?s=21

The 38-year-old registered nurse at a Manhattan hospital was nearing the end of his shift Sunday morning when he stepped toward the building’s ambulance bay.

There, a giant refrigerator truck was sitting, ready to carry away those who had died from complications of COVID-19. He walked up to the truck, opened the latch, and snapped a picture.

“I took it to show to people,” said the emergency room nurse. “It is the ghastly reality of what we deal with and where some of us have ended up already.” He asked that neither he nor his hospital be identified for fear of repercussions. BuzzFeed News altered the image to blur the names of the deceased.

CNN's twitter.com/Acosta reads Trump his previous statements downplaying the coronavirus and asks what he would tell Americans upset over his handling of the crisis.

Trump in return attacks CNN, and says the question is "nasty" and "snarky."

One wonders, if more Christians actually sat down and read The Bible (Old and New Testament) cover to cover, instead of just taking what their pastors spoon-feed them, if any of them would realize some of the things they're being told are so evil they require outright hatred and punitive legislation don't even make God's Top Ten List of Shalts and Shalt Nots.
(If they even appear anywhere in either Testament...)

Sadly, not likely, but one can hope?
