I added another access point for our house's central vacuum system and everything yesterday went really pretty well (not without issues, but nothing bad), then all the finishing work today was like IF I CAN FUCK YOU I SWEAR TO YOU I WILL.

Basically, the basement/garage had no access point, so you couldn't use the central vac down there, even though that's where the canister pump lives. That hasn't been the worst thing in the world - because our house is on yes-that-steep a hill, the "basement/garage" is ground level - but with a workbench down there it would be nice. Plus we could vacuum out vehicles.

I've thought about it on and off for a while, but what pushed me to do it is gettubg a new accessories kit, right? I wasn't fond of taking the in-house accessories into the garage/basement, because basements and garages are intrinsically kinda dirty. But now we have spares, right? The old primary attachment with the agitator may be knackered, and the hose may be tired, but the hose still works and we can use its air-only attachments down there. And the vacuum pipes were exposed so it wouldn't be too hard.

So I added a low-voltage-only hose connector in-line to one of them, and that's the part that went well. The part that did not was building a support framework so it's not just the pipework holding the access point up. That was a clusterfuck. Tool failures, surprise battery drain in the drill, shit flying places for no apparent reason? It was KILL EVERYONE time.

But it's done! The construction glue is drying, it's strong enough for what it needs to be, things should be good. Go me.
