This is why I do not attribute meaning to my dreams.

So okay, I was down on 20th, behind the frat houses, between 47th and 45th but closer to 45th, and it was pretty much like it is now except that in my dream the frat side was cleaner and the planting strips had grass in them instead of illegally-parked cars. And I was lounging in the grass - lying down, propped up on my elbows and stuff, just after sunrise - it was spring or summer, very comfortable, there was dew on the grass - as [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat was taking topless pictures of me for publicity purposes. Meanwhile, President Bush and I were talking about my presidential campaign and how my chances were really pretty good, and that these photos would definitely help. He was still up - and still drunk - from the party the night before, and kept accidentally spilling his beer.

These are the kinds of dreams I usually have. When I remember them, they're just about always just about this stupid.

Can you help me?

This seems pretty clearly about the light box.

You're trying to differentiate your marvelous landlordship from the rude, crude, callous frat houses. Thus, grass instead of illegally parked cars---new growth springing forth in place of chaos and decay. It was just after sunrise, which refers, duh, to the light, and you were topless, which, well, if you take off the top of the hallway, you see more of the light---the sunrise. (Also, carpentry is often a symbol for breasts, and vice versa.)

And the pictures---well, you took pictures of the lightbox, right?

President Bush probably represented the ultimate frat boy, and his being impressed with you is the capstone of the dream---your subconscious exulting in a victory, that even the fraternities are forced to acknowledge your moral superiority.

I should note, in the interest of full honesty, that some would argue a different interpretation. A traditional alternative view would suggest that an election dream symbolizes actual politics in some fashion. Of course, I cannot possibly support this interpretation myself. If the dream was trying to represent American politics in some fashion, then what possible explanation could there be for George Bush being drunk?
