Triple-kill and then two more in a Pharah Play of the Game. They knew who the problem was, they just couldn't do anything about it.

Two double-kills in a Tracer POTG. That was satisfying.

Starting with three out the gate as Widowmaker let them know that I needed to be dealt with, and it took them until the final five metres to figure out how to do it, but unfortunately, they did.

I feel like I'm putting in a lot of work and not getting much of anywhere, though. I'm still stuck in silver, which is awful, half the time I'm literally trying to teach people how to play. Several people have told me you really can't climb much full-time solo-queueing, but I never have groups in which to play, 'cause mostly people I know who play are on PC.

Also, is anybody still reading any of this? Last time anybody reacted to anything I posted was.... 45 posts ago, back on March 12th, 11 weeks ago. I'd hoped Dreamwidth would take off a bit after last year, and moreso with the most recent Facebook hellstorm, but that obviously hasn't happened. Nobody really bailed on Facebook, and everybody just keeps on going along with whatever the fuck Zuckerberg feels like doing next. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm still here and reading, but
a) I figured you were using the Overwatch entries mainly to track your own progress and
b) lately I've often been reading on my phone, where I don't log in, so I don't comment from there.

Still reading ...

I'm still reading and enjoying your posts, but don't really have anything to say about them bc I don't play Overwatch.

Same here, not a gamer or fanfic reader.

Also, between a full work week and a toddler I barely have time for *reading* blogs, let alone commenting!

Reading. Not being a gamer, don't feel like I would have anything remotely useful to say about game mechanics. (And it's at moments like these that I realise that I really **was** raised by wolves on a farm).

Apologies.

I read these, but my limited knowledge of real-time multi-player games in general and Overwatch in particular means that anything beyond the broad outline is rather over my head. I imagine this is what it's like for other people reading my entries about Nethack.

I do, but I am not quite sure what an overwatch is.

Here's an open-source link to recent close-quarter battle doctrine:

https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/90-10-1/appk.pdf

Might or might not be relevant; I have no idea how much tactical leeway you actually have.

Am looking for more doctrinally-sound open-source material that would be directly applicable to a solo operator.

Lessons learnt from adventures in the Sandbox:

High scope sensitivity is good. Breath control (jitter reduction) is good, too.

It sounds as if you are finding that place of being.
