GUESS WHO JUST WON DEATHMATCH IN A RUNAWAY AS WIDOWMAKER
THAT'S RIGHT
THIS WIDOWMAKER IS WHO
this is literally the first time i have won ffa deathmatch as widow
second place was a reaper with 13 kills - it wasn't even close
i got the "five kills remaining" announcement and went, '...I have never heard that before.' okay settle down beavis And then four, three, two, and the last one was an already-wounded Bastion. VICTORY
I mean, I know, this is lot easier on PC? Aiming is 2000% easer with mice. But I'm on PS4, and this is literally only the second time I have seen any Widowmaker win in FFA deathmatch AND IT WAS ME :D
ps: Did I also get play of the game? Why yes, I did get play of the game. (▰˘◡˘▰)
pps: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA /╲/\╭ºoꍘoº╮/\╱\

Date: 2017-12-27 06:04 pm (UTC)The thing that people don't understand is how stacked this mode is against Widowmaker. She has no ult, and no combo move. She's low-HP and can't heal herself. One character in particular (Moira) can basically get an automatic no-recourse kill against her. (I consider this a case of serious OP-ness; if I can't even do damage to her except from range, how the fuck is that supposed to be balanced?) There's another character sniper (Hanzo) whose powers not only include an instakill ult, and a couple of no-aim-require shot modes, but he also gets expansion of enemy hitboxes - shots that are, for me, clean misses, are headshots for him.
And so on. For all these reasons (and a few more), I consider free-for-all deathmatch to be an intentionally-unfair live fire combat exercise. I don't expect to win. I don't expect to be competitive - even if I've finished in second more than once before.
What tends to happen, even in a game that's going well, is: you lead or even take the lead about halfway through, then everybody else starts getting the ability to use their ultimate moves - they accrue over time. And so you, as Widowmaker, stop being able to kill people effectively because all those damn things are firing off around you and you can't be around or you're just dead.
But not last night. I took the lead midway through, and I hear a couple of ults go off but they aren't done well, and meanwhile, I'm taking strays out, then suddenly I hear "5 kills remaining" and I'm up by three, and I just go and nobody else even has time to ult up.
Victory. Runaway. Unf.
