I found myself in exactly the same boat when the fic bug bit me and I wrote A Star to Steer Her By. No writing at all to HUGE amounts of writing and suddenly WTF I Am A Writer.

Every editing pass adds words rather than removes them. Anna says every novelette I've written would be a full novel if written by her. My problem has never been too many words; it's been too few.
