That's actually somewhat comforting to know. That people who are actually doing music struggle with traditional notation.

There's also a line I use, and it's mostly accurate: "I read music like I read braille: slowly, one dot at a time."

Huh, okay. Yeah, no, sheet music is awful. I even figured out a while ago that when I learn a sheet well enough to use it? I've actually just acquired like 80 new measures of kanji. I'm not looking at the notes, I'm looking at the measure as an object and knowing what to do.
