Well, they have some sort of comments-and-reactions stage they're going to put it through, so actually getting implemented is not a sure thing.

But c'mon, the current one is kind of a mess and this isn't hard to implement on their side, so... why the hell not?

I would think, yeah. But if nothing else, at least you put it on the map for them in a way most of us have not been able to, and I don't think it'll be forgotten anytime soon - barring, of course, any sort of other thing going on so important it distracts from the more routine changes that ought to be made, like this.
