At this point, I think it's safe to assume that whenever conservatives freak out about what they perceive to be "perversity" and it's something harmless, they are hiding something that is actually horrible and hoping that no one ever finds out.

Oh sure, that's almost certainly true. Though at this point it's hard to imagine what they'd actually care about. I can't imagine anything, other than rule.
