I know you know that, but - tell people. This weaponised meme has been going around for a while, being pushed by Trump supporters on 4chan, and it's apparently bad enough that even "eh, whatevs" Twitter is taking action against it. But still.

There are also a couple of fake "online voting" websites which have been set up, such as (the currently offline) www-dot-votehillaryonline-dot-com, which participants have talked about directing people towards.

All of this is completely illegal, by the way.

And again, I rejoice in our Government's stubborn insistence on paper ballots with circles you have to put an X in. Pretty difficult to do that online.

"My" (for one of the values of) government insists on slips of papers in envelopes. But on the flip side does NOT require you to pre-register for a "vote early" (it's technically not a postal ballot, since you can't just mail it off, there's a process for sending it by mail, but it is much easier to pop in to any post office or any of the many many "vote early" stations).

Even more hilariously, the papers for different votes have distinctive marks on them and the envelopes (all identical) have teensy cut-outs to make it obvious what race the paper inside is for.

That sounds very sensible. It allows for the poll workers to sort the ballots before they're opened, prevents electronic fraud, and makes it as easy as possible for the electorate to vote.

The sorting step typically happens at "drop into poll box" (they're handed over to a polling station worker, who drops them into the respective ballot boxes in front of your eyes).

And that should have been "different elections" (my native country typically does three election races on the same day).
