Official U.S. Army-developed 3D combat games. Apparently they played pretty well at e3, too. And they're free. I guess it's just new-form advertising, but it still seems kind of weird.

I wonder if there's some way to do a wallhack in that game. Man, that would be cool.

See today's Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view2002-06-05rl.html) and the associated news post (http://www.penny-arcade.com/news2002-06-05.html) for one take on it.

I think playing these games sounds fun.

However, the paranoid side of me is thinking of how the Army can get a bunch of people hooked into their network playing some War on Terrorism simulation, only to find out that it's actually not a simulation but a virtual reality interface. It's Ender's Game all over again.

Yea, I saw it at the E3. It looks like it was in production for a while and is probably a reaction to the popularity of Counterstrike, which is one of the more realistic FPS. I see it as cashing in on something that is already popular and will be popular with the kids that want more reality in their sims.
