It is so weird looking outside right now. The sky suddenly went all gold and dark blues, the east a wall, the southwest on fire.

And just before that, rainbows, one the brightest I've ever seen - and I've seen triple rainbows in person.





And now, even before sunset, it is almost completely dark.

Yeah; the wind just hit. All of a sudden it's *noisy* out. Got my UPSs all charged up.

We were charged too, but we only have about 45 minutes with the full server core. Or, oh, about a full day of cable internet and housewide WIFI, which is pretty useful. :D

They'd said to prep for two days, but I think that's for people further out. There are still scattered outages around us, but we came back up around 1:30am - about seven hours? About that.

Yeah; we never lost power -- this time -- but I wanted to be ready. The server is on a separate UPS from the DSL and WiFi routers (and the DECT-6 phone base station), so all I really had to do was make sure the server knew how to shut itself down properly on a power failure.

Which it didn't, because I'd had to re-build it and hadn't re-installed apcupsd :P
