One of Zinger the Magician’s magic paper butterflies showed up at our house, somehow making its way onto a table in our TV room, all the way from the Oregon coast. I’m not even sure how. It just appeared there a few days ago. Endurance!

The migration flight of the Cascadian Paper Butterfly is one of Nature's quiet miracles. These fragile, delicate creatures fly for hundreds of miles up and down the West Coast of North America on their annual migration to their Summertime range. They will spend the Summer grazing on fine music, fortifying themselves for the return journey South.

They're a forerunner species, really. Paper cranes are making their way further north every nesting season. They'll probably be at the Columbia in another decade or two.
