That post I made yesterday, about SFWA and such? I've revised it, extending it a bit, mostly as other good posts and experiences get posted other places. Mary Robinette Kowal and Anna Aguirre in particular have interesting viewpoints and experiences; the former about how much harm this does to SWFA's good works, and the latter about how these attitudes shape convention experiences and careers.
