My Google-fu has failed me. I was trying to find an article on a broadcast from not too long ago when a worldwide performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony was done live via satellite link between the various performing groups spread across the globe. They had to watch the timing very precisely, since the signal delay from transmitting up to geosynchronous orbit and back would have put the performance wildly out of synch if someone got their cues wrong.

But if we're in the future, where's my jetpack? I want my flying car!
