FM Hue Test Results

A lower score is better, with ZERO being the perfect score. The bars above show the regions of the color spectrum where hue discrimination is low.

I take consolation in the fact that I've never calibrated the screen on my iMac.

Date: 2011-09-23 12:27 pm (UTC)I have taken the test twice, on two different computers, and both times I scored a 20. Both times exactly! I feel like I'm taking a Myers-Briggs test, where my results are are consistent no matter what test I take.

Date: 2011-09-23 05:25 pm (UTC)Thank you for reminding me that I was going to try to figure out how to ask Google to fix their mobile Maps app so that the traffic colors are usable for those of us who have color trouble.....

Date: 2011-09-25 11:32 pm (UTC)So, I thought I was bound to have messed some up, but I got a 0 too. Little bit doubtful about that as I thought I was 50:50 about quite a few pairs, so it's surprising that they were all right apparently (unless it allows you to get them wrong just pairwise without being penalised, or there are actually two of the same shade in there in places, or something)...
I have an Eizo monitor, but not one of the super-expensive accurate sort - i.e. it only cost twice as much as another brand, not five times as much - and it's not calibrated either. (Well, I'm using the manufacturer-provided colour profile, so it's 'calibrated' to that extent, but it's several years old now and probably would need calibrating for real accuracy.) I only really ever print things on crappy instant-photo-print kiosks which I'm pretty sure are sufficiently inaccurate that it's not going to matter if my monitor is slightly off. At least now I know my eyes aren't. ;)
