Thanks! Yes, with my little Canon D9 pocket camera, handheld. Those are actual pixels, ISO100, 1/600th of a second, f4.something, optical zoom all the way in, no digital zoom (because digital zoom is junk), 11mp resolution. There's still some optical noise even at ISO100 but it's not bad.

It is larger but it's not OMGMOON EATS THE SKY large. ^_^ And at least you went out and saw it! Even if it was distorted.

It was. I wish we hadn't had clouds at the horizon so I could've shot it against the mountains, but it was pretty anyway. Really, the neatest part was how it never actually got dark. The sky stayed blue all night. Really dark blue, but blue.
