Anybody else? I just saw one that looked surprisingly stable! Very green.

We couldn't see any where we are. Are you looking north or east?

There was a CME, but I'm not sure when it was due to reach Earth...

We're in the middle of the U-district, can't see a damn thing with all the lights.

Ah, then we did see this up in Ravenna/Wedgwood. I wasn't sure if it was, in fact, lightning behind clouds.

Yes! I just went out to look (50ish miles north of Seattle), and there they were. Too many of my neighbors have outdoor lights on to get much color. At first I thought I was seeing clouds, but after watching a few moments it's obviously aurorae. Clouds just don't move like that. That was worth staying up for -- sleepy software testing tomorrow, though. Thanks for the tip!

I'm too far south, darn it.

we had an astounding auroral display up here (north of Blairmore) last night -- conical curtains that swirled and sent out bars of green light with black bands in between.

was really intense for ca. forty minutes, then settled down to a throbbing glow along the northeastern horizon.

was very nice, but somewhat frightening, too.

VHF radio net is down this morning, by the bye.

Unfortunately just a BIT far south to see it (my area usually doesn't get aurorae unless it's a class G4 geomagnetic storm)...but yeah, the sun is getting ACTIVE again, maybe I'll actually get to see aurorae by 2012 (and hopefully this means the higher shortwave bands might come alive again :3)

Darn, we are out in the country and can get away from the lights, but we were apparently too far south down here in Mehama. (About 45 degrees, if you recall the sign you passed in Salem.) We went and looked, and could see lots of stars, but no aurora. *pouts* I've never seen an aurora live.

Too many trees to our East to have a good view of the active area. We saw the flashes, though.
