hi, pardon the lousy typing, but my hands are in bad shape this morning. sucks to be assembled from spare parts, sometimes.:(
i am unsettled to hear that [we're being told that] it's cross-border autopact trade driving the reduction in trading deficit.
'unsettled' because it appears as if our economy, up here, is still being firmly moored to that of our unstable neighbour.
thought-question, which i lack the tools to answer -- what happens if we break out the north-south trade flows at the cascadian level? does the trade balance enure in british columbia's favour? or that of washington/oregon? for comparision, it's already discernable that vancouver island runs a strong trade deficit vis-a-vis the mainland -- what sustains out here is the capital flow from albertans cashing-out and building their retirement palaces all along the waterfront.
