Much Ado about Bacon, meself. I mean, yeah, this shit is narstier than your run of the mill rhinovirus (and I'm deliberately understating here) but it *is* susceptible to ordinary Western medicine for the most part (unlike, say, Ebola or any of cadhla's favorite bugs) and the numbers just aren't that big. Not like, say, the Black Death back in the Bad Old Times where we were wiping out whole *towns*....

OTOH, maybe this will get us started down the path of better healthcare in this country? I mean, it's a helluva way to do it, but hey, sometimes the Zen master is gonna haul off and smack you one just to get your attention. Life's not fair. Which doth suck, as your lovely partner can attest. But there are ways of dealing with suckage. (Bad movie marathons, anyone? :)
