okay that was pretty awesome
May. 25th, 2008 04:34 pmGoing to Folklife is fun. Playing at Folklife is about eight zillion times better. Okay, so Anna and I earned about enough for a happy meal; not exactly the big moneys, it was still HOLY CRAP PEOPLE ARE GIVING US MONEY FOR US PLAYING MUSIC. Also, my original music brought in most of the dosh: "Thought You Knew" is now officially the first thing people have paid me for playing. ("Leaffall" and "Dreams of an Incomplete Flute" also brought in moneys.)
We even had little crowds once in a while. Not big ones; just little ones. But they were our little crowds, listening to us, crowding in so they could hear us better in all the noise.
I also handed out a couple of contact cards, and if I wanted to get photographed I just needed to pull out Splinter - someone I think was an official Folklife photographer got shots of me playing it (he was official for somebody - pro gear, had official badges and such) and so did an assortment of other people - he gets attention, he does.
So godt dammit that was awesome. Also three hours. V. tired now. Zzz.
