So I guess now it's April Snowstorms Bring May, um.... Glaciers? Hell, that doesn't even rhyme. I don't even know anymore.

I heard there's a 30% chance of wolverines this afternoon, though. Bundle up!

ETA:

20 April 2008 (with more to come)

Dark Purple
To others, you seem a bit dark, mysterious, and moody. In truth, you are just a unique person who doesn't care what others think, and you really enjoy your offbeat interests and friends. You've decided that life is about living for yourself - simple as that.

You Are 40% Girly
You're a pretty hardcore tomboy, and a very free spirit. Gender roles be dammed, you like to do things your way.

I'm thinking of holing up in the basement until this weird weather passes.

1) it will not snow until may; that is an **alberta** thing,

2) i note that in the picture of yon steep street from hell that the snow appears to have only made slush on the road (the manhole cover shows clearly at the intersection downhill), and

3) it's completely cleared up and has gotten quite a bit warmer here, upwind of you.

so, i'd be worrying more about the beginning of mosquito season, than any more great whorlin' flakes of snow.

i'll make a wild-assed guess that what the cow was reporting had more to do with urban heat-island effect than anything else. you're more on the edge of the city, with the lake serving as a temperature sink; i'm even more on the edge of things, being in a twenty-block patch of old houses surrounded by extensive forests and clear-cuts, plus (i'm guessing) twice your height above sea level -- so i'd get the colder weather too, and our greater snowfall was likely more an outflow orographic effect than anything else.

anyway, it's over now.

puffy little clouds here; still have ice on the drilling-ponds, but it's thin, coarse-crystalled ice, so it barely froze this morning
