day three

It looks like it's right about 2/3rds of the way through day three of NO SINGING when you start getting songs in your head that you aren't allowed to sing along to. And that's when you start getting all twitchy.

Also, the only other house on my street is for sale. I presume it's a nice house - I've never been inside - and it's got all kinds of views, but they want way too much money for it. Open house tomorrow and Sunday. I think I'll go poke around inside. Damn, I'm nosy.

Lol $630k. Apparently they didn't get the memo about the economy/current market... nice-looking place, though. Is that the other one on the way up the little hill climb to you rdirveway?

That's not their fault; it was built in the modernist era, and that style was popular in those houses. And they didn't rip it out, tho' they did add stylistically-inappropriate trim.

The view of the lake (from the photo) is honestly less than I'd expected. But I'll check into it in the open house tomorrow. It should have a good mountain view; the "view" of Mr. Rainier, on the other hand, I know is a joke - it's visible peeking over the top of Arrowhead, and you can see about the top 10% of it on a clear day.

Never hurts to try if they're prepared to be patient. I guess whether or not they keep it at that price or lower it soon depends on how motivated (read: desperate) they are to sell.

Okay, I stopped by the open house next door this morning to poke around a bit, and I have to say, while I have issues with some of the design choices they've made, the main living space in the house next door - the part of the house with that window you hate - is actually very nicely laid out. It's really a pleasant space to be in, and dramatically and entirely different than what I'd expected from the outside and from the photos.

I poked around inside the place today and I have to say that the interiour layout is quite a bit more pleasant than I would have anticipated from the outside.
