A New Year

I haven't felt like posting economics or politics lately. I've been doing more music. I haven't gone away tho'. I may do an econ post tomorrow; I'll pico-preview it by noting that the ratings agencies did exactly what was suggested earlier, and used the $3B pseudo-"bailout" as an excuse to prop up fraudulent ratings for the monoline insurers. I rather think they've more destroyed their own credibility than anything else, but we'll see.

Oh, and jumping away from that, here are some very, very nice pictures of Heian Shrine, in the winter. I have a lot of pictures from when we were there last summer, but these are brand new from someone living nearby now. Click here for picture set 1, and click here for picture set 2. The pictures I linked to (the snow pictures) are not mine. I've been there, and I took pictures, but they're summer pictures and I haven't posted them.

We are hoping to visit again soon, but not in time for cherry-blossom season, as we sadly don't live in Japan.
