No Cultural Warfare Update until tomorrow - sorry, too many political posts already today. Don't worry, I've started it - but the bigger issue right now is the legislative insanity in Congress. So have some linkblogging. Or, if you want better linkblogging, go read [livejournal.com profile] zarq's LJ.

Senator Santorum plays it extra stupid, running attack ads that imply his opponent took money from certain felons - then was forced to retract the ad when it turned out that not only had his opponent not received donations from any of these people, but his own campaign had. He ended up giving the money to charity, but still: BWAH!

Here, this is disturbing: a semi-new legal tactic is helping batterers win child-custody in divorce cases. Very nice. These aren't just allegations, either; they're doing things like getting the history of spousal abuse thrown out as irrelevant.

[livejournal.com profile] jwz's post about this science story was funny ("I think we all know how this movie ends"); it'll be interesting to see how the theoconservatives react. So far, pleasantly, the Catholic Church is tentatively - very tentatively - saying it's okay with them, which is, well, a step.
